- PublicFolder is a great app by Dave Winer to keep a folder on S3 in sync with a local folder. However, I wish it worked the other way round too, basically keep both the local and S3 files in sync. #
- I understand Dave's thought behind this, he even has it on the website. The way he words, it's an app to "get ideas off the desktop and onto the web. That's exactly what it does. But what it means is today if I upload the file to S3 and not in local folder, it deletes the file from S3. That's not keeping things in sync, that's uploading things from local to S3, exactly what Dave wants, I guess.#
- I expected the behaviour to be both ways, if there's a file missing anywhere, it should make sure it is brought in there. A file deletion needs to be explicit, just the way it is with Dropbox and likes. Till then, I think I will keep the app not running.#
